Academic Upper Secondary School (Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliches Gymnasium, now Kirschgarten Gymnasium, Basel) finishing with the Matura C.
October 1991 - July 1995 Diploma studies in Chemistry at the University of Basel.
November 1995 - October 1998 Doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Basel, in the group of Prof. Margareta Neuburger-Zehnder (Title: Chiral, benzylic sulfinic and phosphoric amides: Lithiation, structures and use in asymmetric synthesis).
November 1998 - October 2000 Postdoctoral stay at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), working on the mechanism of the anti-cancer drugs cisplatin and oxaliplatin in the group of Prof. Stephen J. Lippard.
December 2000 - April 2003 Postdoc at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Zürich in the group of Prof. Roger Alberto on DNA recognizing polyamines.
May 2003 - May 2009 Oberassistent and Habilitant at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Zürich in the group of Prof. Roger Alberto.
June 2009 - present Privatdozent and Scientific teamleader (since May 2008) at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Zürich.

I like doing the following sports: volleyball, (cat)sailing, skiing, and tennis. I am also interested in art, museums and photography.
